Happy birthday to YouTube. Did you know it had a birthday on February 15? Yes, ten years old. I am writing the global video-superstar a note to say thanks for helping me along my writing journey.

Yes, YouTube is a friend of mine. We’ve grown close over these last few years. I know YouTube is always just a click away for me, and it rarely steps out of line. There was that time that it got confused between the mobile site and the desktop link, which really was a sad few days for me… but we’ve since made up and it is all smooth sailing since then. Our mutual friend Tobias was able to fix the technological hiccup that was welling up in our throats.

Clock ticks to symbolize time management

This morning I was reading discussions on LinkedIn and came across a post about time management tips for writing essays. It was full of good points, including making a schedule and taking time to do research before you begin to write the essay. That’s the link above, in case you want to read it. I started thinking about the post though and made a comment that some of you might find interesting.

Here is what I wrote on the LinkedIn discussion page:

Also, allow extra time for anything unforeseen that may happen (family member gets sick, last-minute project, etc.)

Here’s the thing about writing, at least from my experience. It’s all well and good to plan out your time management Continue reading

Thank you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Blogging Award Ceremony Fun

Thank you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Very Inspiring Blogger Award, x 2!

Hello and welcome to the day’s blogging award ceremony. I would like to call to the stage a group of talented bloggers who are deserve the awards I am bestowing on them. I would like to – Wait, the microphone isn’t even on? Oh dear, um, well…

Hi everyone! I am so honored to have received two blogging awards recently and I want to say thank you and to award some wonderful nominees today too! I have received the Very Inspiring Blogger Award two times! Wow, what an honor to receive it from both Aquileana of La Audacia de Aquiles and from Prakash Hegade of Its PH.

The Rules for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Here are the rules for accepting the Very Inspiring Blogger Award:

  1. The nominee shall display the respective logo on her/his blog and link to the blogger that has nominated her/him.
  2. The nominee shall nominate 15 bloggers (more or less) that she/he admires, by linking to their blogs and informing them about the nomination.
  3. The nominee has to answer these seven 7 questions:

1. Who is your favorite public figure?

I am taking a personal interpretation of “public figure” here and saying my Mom. She is such a strong woman and so beautiful inside and out.

2. What do you like most?

Well, words. I like reading them, writing them (typing and handwriting). It’s a love affair!

3. Do you follow trends?

I rarely follow fashion trends. I tend to buy classic items that I can wear one year to the next and then I add in trendy accessories to create new-ish outfits. Trends of any kind are fleeting so I just pay attention to what I feel comfortable doing and if it’s trendy at the time then so be it.

  1. Put the award logo on your blog.
  2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.

  5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

I am going to use the same seven questions as Jez so my answers are here too:

  1. Where do most visits to your blog come from?

Oh those Americans! They keep coming and bringing their smiles 🙂 I appreciate all visits, of course!
